Make in India

What is Make in India? What are its benefits?

I will regard the “Make in India” as one of the great initiatives taken by our honourable Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi in September 2014 in order to build our nation. Long story short, it is the initiative Devised to encourage the national and multi-national concerns to manufacture their products in India by facilitating investments, foster innovations, protect intellectual property, and to build world class manufacturing infrastructure within the country.
“I want to tell the people of the whole world: Come, make in India. Come and manufacture in India. Go and sell in any country of the world, but manufacture here. We have skill, talent, discipline and the desire to do something. We want to give the world an opportunity that come make in India,” Prime Minister of India. These are the wonderful words delivered by our Modi ji as a part of his speech in Red fort on August 15, 2014.
The make in India program will be led by Department of industry policy and promotion, Ministry of commerce. Its main focus is on 25 sectors which include automobiles, IT&BPM, infrastructure, aviation, chemicals and pharmaceuticals, defense manufacturing, railways, tourism, food processing and dining, media and entertainment, textiles, handy crafts, bio-technology, thermal power, hospitality, roads and highways and various other sectors.
The make in India program is very essential for the growth of India in various ways, as it utilizes the human resource in the country, it enhances the skill set of the Indian talent, it even empowers territory and secondary sector, and it makes India self- employed.
Our prime minister has recognized the “Ease of doing business by make in India program,” is the single factor that drives Entrepreneurship in India. As a process of liberalizing the business environment various initiatives has already in place with the motive of DE-licensing, DE- regulating the industry and business life cycle.
Till now everything is at par, but the actual question arises when we think of the availability of infrastructure available in India to welcome such manufacturing giants, yes we have to have good infrastructure facilities like integrated logistics and transportation, modern high-speed communication, fast paced registration system to support innovation and research, government should develop industrial corridors and smart cities, training should be provided to the unemployed based on the industry requirements these initiatives may help the program to be successful.
Hence, the conclusion can only be drawn regarding the Program success if we take a quick look on the debit as well as credit sides of Make in India step.
Further if we consider the advantages it adds to the country we can say that it will provide numerous job opportunities, extends the vicinity of the localities, expands GDP, up-gradation of technology and infrastructure, Development of rural areas, balanced regional development, Exports will be more than imports, ease of business.
As a flip side it leaves few disadvantages to the society as well, namely the small enterprises may be at loss, Depletion of natural resources, interests in international brands.
On a note of conclusion, Make in India is the lions step taken by our PM, it is an opportunity for every individual in the country, with the quality amount spent on it, it will ripe as a sweetest fruit.
